Apt #1

I grew up in this apartment from 1980-1990. My dad bought the place in 1979 for ~$20K. It is on the first floor and he later bought the basement and converted the apartment in to a duplex by cutting a hole in the floor and putting in a circular staircase.

It's on a very quite block in Brooklyn Heights, a few blocks from the BQE and the river. Across the street there's a power conversion plant for the MTA that made noise sometimes. It had a great big wall that the kids on the block used to play games in front of and bounce tennis balls off of.

The basement opened up to the backyard which connected to the St Anne's school playground. Great as a kid, you have a whole playground right in your backyard :-)

Public school is served by PS8 which is a good school.
